Spring Essentials

I thought I would share some of my spring favorites right now. It always changes from week to week, month to month, so this is what I am loving right now! I hope these give you some ideas of essentials/gifts! Let me know of anything I am missing :-)

....

1. MAC Rebel Lipstick: My favorite fun pink lipstick. Not only do I love it because it stays on so well, but it has a hint of shine in it, which is perfect for dry lips and giving you the soft look. If I want this color to go a little lighter I will add my MAC primer before hand

2. Sephora Tweezers: Hands down the best tweezers I've ever bought. They are a little pricier for a pair of tweezers, but they are incredible! They are two sided with a bigger tweezer on one side and a skinnier on the other. They get all those little hairs that are impossible to get (you know, where you end up pulling out your skin instead)

3. NARS Larger Than Life Lipgloss: I love the gorgeous raspberry color and it stays right in place! Great vibrant color for spring!

4. Bareminerals Oil Free Primer: This is a must for me! I have such oily skin and without putting this on before my make-up, my make-up dews right up and looks like I just ran a marathon or something. I usually put this on about 15 minutes before I do my make-up. That way it has time to dry and set.

5. Bareminerals Bronzer: Good bronzers are tough to find. But I found that what works best for me is this gorgeous bronzer. It isn't glittery at all (I feel like a vampire if I see the slightest hint of glitter). It stays put and adds such a gorgeous glow! Plus they have lots of bronzers to choose from!

6. Victoria Secret Nior Tease Travel Perfume: I always carry a travel size perfume with me because you never know when you had a brain fart and forgot to add deodorant that morning. Plus, my husband loves to do things spur of the moment and it never hurts to freshen up real quick

7. Flower Statement Necklace c/o StephsCloset: I am not a huge statement necklace person (more statement earrings) but I think I've worn this necklace more then most and I've received the most compliments. I love the light color and spring feel to it. You can never go wrong with a little glitz ;-)

8. Look On The Bright Side Bag: A cute make-up/jewelry bag is a must! It makes it easier to carry around in your purse or spot in your suitcase when it's a bright vibrant color. Plus a cute inspirational quote doesn't hurt ;-)

I hope you have a great weekend!! We are checking out San Francisco tomorrow and I am sooo excited!! Leave a comment with any recommendations down there!

Sheinside Blush Coats

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5

Sheinside has become one of my new go to sites for my winter coats. I am loving all these blush colors for the winter right now. More girly and fun, in my opinion. And sheinside has sooo many choices of colors to look at. It was so tough for me to pick out just a few to show. Definitely head on over there to pick out some gorgeous coats, sweaters and dresses for this holiday season!

Now, who doesn't want thick luscious hair?!!
Don't we all! This is when thank the Product God's for their cleverness!
Below are a few of my favorite key products to give my hair that optical illusion of being thick and full.

I have really thick hair already but I feel like it looses it's volume and bounce really easily. So, these products won't just help thin, fine hair, but already thick or even coarse hair.

{Paul Mitchell Thickening Spray} Spray straight into your damp hair. I do roots to a little above my mid strand. This product is probably my favorite! I don't go a day without using it. It really helps with swelling your hair follicle and making your hair feel thicker. (as you can tell it was recently on sale so I stocked up with a few bottles. it's normally about $12)

{Big Sexy Blow It Up} I just started using this product when we got it in my salon and knew I needed to try it on my hair. Key note: a little goes a long way! Seriously! It's foam based and I have learned from experience to only apply to roots (no mid strand). It works best when you round brush your hair out but we all don't have time for that. So remember, a little goes a long way. It really pushes your roots up and out and keeps that hold. Your hair needs something on it to be able to hold any type of curl, back combing, etc. So this will help with that big time! This is what gives me my volume and I have to do a lot less back combing which I love!

{Moroccan Oil} Same with this product: a little goes a long way. I have hair past my chest and like I said, it's very thick. I only use one pump of this and mostly apply to wear my hair is most freezy. This doesn't necessarily help with thickness but it's going to help with holding down all those fly aways and
make your hair look very smooth. Which is exactly what you want.. thick, smooth, luscious hair!

Lemon Sage Thickening Shampoo®

{Paul Mitchell Thickening Shampoo} After I get out of the shower I feel like my hair has multiplied by 10! It feels full and healthy. Make sure you wash this out of your hair very well or you will definitely feel some lovely residue later on.

I don't do anything special when I blow dry, except I always blow out my hair the opposite from where I part it. This will help with getting the volume at the root.

Products are very important to have when you are trying to achieve something your hair is not. And they are a great base for a heat protectant!

Thanks for reading!!!

Here's what I've been up to behind the chair...

A beautiful side swoop up-do. I love that we incorporated a braid into it. I listened in on an up-do class that another stylist was giving and I learned soooo much and was so excited to use everything I learned!

I have clients ranging in ages 16-50 coming in for eyelash extensions. That's one of the many reasons why I love them so much. There is no age limit on them!

You bet I was so excited when my cute friend asked me to cut and color her hair this cute!! I love doing cute pixie cuts and doing a fun ice blonde!

This client wanted a very dramatic look for her lashes. So you betcha we did just that!

This was this cute girls first time coloring her hair and we both were not disappointed! We added in some gorgeous carmel highlights, perfect for fall!

I have never met a more relaxed bride! She let me take it away with her hair, so I just did a soft low up-do. And that bird cage veil...totally swooning over it!! Hair accessories are the best!

This lovely lady wanted a very natural look (she is a very natural beautiful girl) So we kept it minimal on the thickness and natural on the length..

I hope you all enjoyed a sneak peak of what I do behind the chair at my salon! Come in and see me because right now I am doing a deal of $20 off  a set of eyelash extensions!

This Bride normally ever wears make-up. Maybe just a bit of mascara tops! She just has a natural beauty about her. But when it comes to bridals where you are wearing a white dress, that washes out lighter skin tones, you gotta add just a little bit more make-up then normal. And I think Melissa did an amazing job at that! Her look looks so soft and feminine. The bride still looked like recognizable and didn't feel out of place.

Are you swooning over this Anthro dress as much as I am! The colors are just so gorgeous..aaahhh. After doing this missy's hair, I just felt like it needed one last touch but couldn't figure out what. And then it hit me... the flowers I had on my dresser. And... if I do say so myself, it worked out just perfect. The green leaf/flower added the perfect touch. If you don't have anything on hand, you work with what's around you and make it look like it was on purpose, right!
